Chandelier
Chandeliers are a nice feature to have in your home and a lot of people when considering the layout of the lighting in the home will have a electrician install a chandelier or two but they don’t really consider the maintenance and up keep of the chandelier. Let’s say for instance you install a 150 pound fixture in the front entry/foyer of your home as most people do now a days when building a new home, let’s say the bulbs go out in a couple of the sockets but the fixture is 15 or 20 feet of the ground, how will your replace it. Let’s say you want to clean it every once in a while, will you rent a scaffold or buy a 14 foot A frame ladder in order to service the fixture?
The best solution for maintaining and servicing chandeliers that are high off the ground and out of reach is a light lift that lowers and raises your fixture using a mechanical pully system. These units are rated for many different weight classes and can be installed in new construction applications as well as remodeling. In order for the work to be done properly and up to code you would need to have a licensed electrician install the unit for and in the case of a remodeling project like one I had in Chicago a while back you might also need to hire a drywall guy/painter..
